If your Boxes use domains whose DNS settings are managed externally, there is one important thing to consider after the upgrade: Changing the A and AAAA records.
We want to make sure that you have sufficient time for necessary preparations. That's why we'll wait until September 2024 before we start migrating Boxes with external domains.
The upgrade procedure at a glance
As the update of DNS records is a manual process and takes some time, we have added some additional security measures to the procedure for Phase 2 migrations:
One week before the migration, you will be informed by email about the Boxes and the time frame for the upgrades.
Until shortly before the start of the migration, you have the option to postpone your migration to a later date.
When the migration has started, we will update you via email.
We will then clone your site to the new infrastructure. This will result in a short downtime of your Box.
We then set up a so-called domain proxy. This ensures that your site remains accessible, even if the DNS settings have not yet been changed.
Once the migration is complete, you will receive another email with all the important information about your new Box and the next steps.
You now have at least 14 days to adjust your DNS settings.
ℹ️ If you need longer for the DNS changeover, simply contact us and we can extend the domain proxy period for you.
