Microsoft 365 at Raidboxes: Overview and Support Coverage

Microsoft 365 can be subscribed to and managed through Raidboxes. This article explains the key basics as well as the scope of support.

Written by Kerstin Kegel

Microsoft 365 as a standalone product

Microsoft 365 is a standalone product and can be used independently of other Raidboxes products.

You do not need a Raidboxes hosting plan or a Raidboxes email product to use Microsoft 365.

Who can order Microsoft 365?

Microsoft 365 can only be ordered by business customers. Private customers cannot currently purchase Microsoft 365 through Raidboxes.

What does Microsoft 365 support include?

Raidboxes provides support for administrative topics related to ordering and setting up Microsoft 365.

This includes, for example:

Ordering and license management

  • Ordering Microsoft 365 licenses

  • Adjusting the number of licenses

  • Billing questions

Access and administration

  • Access to the Microsoft Admin Center

  • Support with login issues

  • General questions about user and license management

Domain connection and DNS settings

  • Domain verification

  • Support with setting up the required DNS records

  • General support with connecting a domain to Microsoft 365

Note about domains:
Microsoft 365 can be used with domains from different providers. The domain does not need to be managed by Raidboxes.

Changes with external domain or DNS providers must be made by the customer, as Raidboxes does not have access to DNS management outside of Raidboxes.

Which topics are not supported?

⚠️ Important: Raidboxes does not provide product support for Microsoft applications or Microsoft services.

This includes, for example:

  • Errors in Outlook

  • Issues with Microsoft Teams

  • Questions about SharePoint features

  • OneDrive sync issues

  • Questions about Word, Excel, or PowerPoint

  • Product training and end-user support

  • Errors or outages within Microsoft services

As Raidboxes does not have access to the Microsoft applications or the Microsoft 365 environment itself, these issues cannot be analyzed or resolved by Raidboxes.

Support with DNS settings

Some Microsoft 365 services require DNS changes. The required records are provided in the Microsoft Admin Center and may need to be added with the relevant DNS provider.

These records may include, for example:

  • MX

  • SPF

  • DKIM

  • CNAME

  • TXT

Raidboxes does not make automatic DNS changes for Microsoft 365.

DNS settings are generally the responsibility of the domain owner.

Microsoft 365 and email

Many Microsoft 365 plans include Exchange Online for email, calendar, and contacts.

Exchange Online is independent of Raidboxes email products.

Microsoft 365 mailboxes and Raidboxes mail products can be used in parallel. However, there is no direct integration between the two products.

Migrations

Automated migrations of existing Microsoft 365 environments are currently not included in the service.

Automated migrations between Microsoft 365 and other email products are also not currently offered.
