Two-factor authentication is activated in your Raidboxes account settings. 2FA is only valid for the account on which it has been activated - and not for individual Boxes or for the admins of a Box. To provide optimal protection for your website, we recommend that you, your team and your admins all activate two-factor authentication in your respective Raidboxes accounts.
What is two-factor authentication?
Two-factor authentication (2FA) protects access to your account by requiring users to enter an additional proof of identity when logging in. This proof is supplied by so-called authentication codes. Two-factor authentication thus combines two different and separate methods to protect your login: a password and an authentication code. Our 2FA feature allows you to receive authentication codes via app, email or SMS. Depending on the option you select, you will receive the required codes via this method in the future.
How do I activate two-factor authentication?
You can enable two-factor authentication in your profile settings. Click on the person icon in the top right corner of your dashboard and select Settings from the drop-down menu to access your profile settings. You can enable and configure two-factor authentication in this area.
Important points to note before activating two-factor authentication:
Two-factor authentication is only valid for your Raidboxes account and not for your WordPress login.
Two-factor authentication is only valid for the account it was set up on and not for any other accounts. If other admins have access to your Box through their own Raidboxes accounts, it is advisable that these admins also activate two-factor authentication for their accounts.
Two-factor authentication via SMS can only be enabled on accounts that have been activated with a paid subscription.

How to configure 2FA
Before two-factor authentication is activated for your account, you need to first select the authentication method you would like to use. You can choose to authenticate via the following options:
App
SMS
Email
For authentication via app, you will need a smartphone and an internet connection.
How do I activate two-factor authentication via app?
To activate two-factor authentication via app, select the option Authenticator App (TOTP) and click on Activate 2FA to confirm.
A pop-up window will appear with a QR code. Scan this code with the authenticator app of your choice. We recommend the app Authy.
After scanning the QR code, you will receive a verification code. It doesn’t matter which app you use. To activate 2FA, please now enter the code in the field below the QR code.
The Raidboxes Dashboard automatically recognizes the verification code. If this does not happen automatically, click on Verify code.
Once this step is complete, two-factor authentication via app has been set up for your account. From now on, you will be asked to provide a second factor sent to you via app every time you log in to your Raidboxes Dashboard.
Please note that the code can only be generated via the authenticator app and the associated mobile device with which the 2FA via app was originally set up.
How to activate two-factor authentication via SMS?
If you want to set up two-factor authentication via SMS, you simply need to enter your mobile phone number. Your phone must be able to receive SMSs for this 2FA method to work. First select the country code (e.g. DE +49 for Germany) and enter your mobile number without the initial zero and any dashes (-).
Example: You would enter the mobile number 0171-1234-5678-90 as follows:
The initial zero is already incorporated into the country code +49 and the zeros have been left out deliberately.
Once your telephone number has been entered correctly, click on Activate 2FA.
You will then be sent your first verification code via SMS. This verification code needs to be entered within 10 minutes to activate 2FA.
Enter the code and click Verify to complete the activation. Now, every time you attempt to log in to your Raidboxes account, you will be asked to enter a second factor, i.e. the verification sent to you via SMS. It will no longer be possible to log in without this code in the future.
How do I activate two-factor authentication via email?
If you want to use two-factor authentication via email, your verification codes will be sent to the email address you used to register your Raidboxes account. Select the option Email (OTP) and click Activate 2FA.
After activating this option, you will receive an email with the verification code. Enter this code into the appropriate field.
After successful activation, you will be sent a verification code via email every time you attempt to log in to your Raidboxes account.
What is the difference between two-factor authentification and two-factor authentication?
The two terms two-factor authentification and two-factor authentication denote the same process and can be used synonymously.
