🔀 Changing your plan is very simple: If you are already using the new Dashboard, you can adjust your Box contract yourself. If not, just contact our support team in the live chat and give us your subscription ID and the new desired plan. We'll carry out the upgrade for you – usually without changing the Box. This means, the upgrade doesn't involve an IP change, nor is it necessary to adjust the domain.

Please note: A downgrade of the existing plan takes place at the end of the contract term. An upgrade will be carried out immediately, and you will receive an automatic credit for the remaining term of the old contract.

Upgrade & Downgrade without changing the Box

If the desired Box is on the same infrastructure as your previous Box, the upgrade/downgrade takes place by adapting the Box performance. As the IP address remains the same, no domain connection is required.

Upgrades & downgrades with Box change

Upgrading/downgrading between infrastructures is a special case (e.g. from the old infrastructure to our new Raidboxs 2.0 servers). Switching the hosting plan results in a change of IP address, as a clone of your existing Box must be created for the upgrade or downgrade. This also means that you will have to reconnect your domain after the upgrade.

Just get in touch with our support team. They'll guide you through the process and also help you change your domain's DNS records.

Upgrade & Downgrade in the new Dashboard

Upgrades or downgrades of Box plans can be carried out directly in Dashboard 2.0.

Go to the subscription overview in the new Dashboard and click on the number of the Box contract you want to upgrade or downgrade.

Select plan

In the details of your subscription, you will find the option manage subscription, where you can adjust your Box plan.

Now choose the desired new plan – it can be either below or above your current Box performance level.

Choose add-ons

Click Next to move to the second step, where you can select add-ons. If you don’t want to change or add any add-ons to your subscription, you can simply skip this step.

Add-ons can only be added when upgrading your plan. If you wish to downgrade your plan, the option to select add-ons will not be available.

Review payment settings

In the third step, you will see your current payment information. Here, you can update your payment method or billing interval for your subscription if needed.

Review and complete your order

The fourth and final step gives you an overview of your subscription adjustment as part of the upgrade or downgrade process.

If everything looks good, click Upgrade now or Downgrade to complete your order.

The Today’s payment section lists the prorated costs of your subscription, covering the period from the day of the order until the next billing date. For more information, see the article Prorated charges on invoices.
