The Box status screen gives you an overview of the processes currently running on your Box and how these affect your Box's resources. You can see, for example, whether your server is overloaded or your RAM usage is too high.
Note: For Boxes on our new servers, CPU and RAM utilization is not yet available in the Box status at the beginning. However, the remaining Box status features work as expected.
Where can I find the Box status?
There are two ways to access your Box's status screen:
1. Via the Dashboard overview
From your Dashboard, you can access the status screen of a particular Box by switching to the list view and clicking on the speedometer symbol.
2. Via the Box overview
Alternatively, you can access the Box status screen by clicking on Status in the Box overview.
The Box status screen at a glance
The Box status area contains a lot of important information about your server:
CPU load graph: shows you whether your site is currently overloaded. Your Box logs can then help you determine exactly what is overloading your site.
RAM usage graph: show you the current RAM usage of your vServer. This measurement is also an important indicator for an overloaded Box.
SSD usage: allows you to see much of your Box's SSD is being used.
Cronjobs: is a list of the active cronjobs on your Box. This information can also be found in your Box settings.
Changelog: gives you detailed information on all server-side changes that have been made on your Box.
Log files: consists of the error, debug and access logs. Using the information in these logs, you can properly debug errors and problems on your site.
Note: This article only explains how to use the Box status screen and how to find the information you are looking for. To find out what the individual measurements mean and how to interpret them correctly, please read the other important article in this section: Box status: CPU load and RAM usage.
What information does the Box status give me?
The Box status screen provides you with a wealth of information about your Box, its behavior and the server. The Box status screen is divided into the following sections:
CPU load
The CPU load graph shows the CPU load of your Box server over time. The orange and red lines mark the load ranges in which your Box is in danger of overloading. We explain exactly what the measurements on this graph means and how you can interpret them properly in the article Box status: CPU load and RAM usage.
The CPU load graph is made up of minute-by-minute measurements of your server load. These points are measured in one-minute intervals. If you want to know exactly how high the CPU load was at a certain point, simply hover over the time on the graph.
By default, the graph displays data from the past 24 hours. If you want to view a different time period, first click on the arrow icon in the upper-right corner. Next, click on the graph, hold down the left mouse button and drag your view to the left or right.
If you want to examine a shorter period of time in detail, you can zoom in. Just drag a frame around the data points you want to zoom in on and the graph will automatically adjust.
If you want to zoom out, just click on the reset button in the upper-right corner of the graph. The graph will return to the default 24-hour view.
RAM usage
The RAM usage graph works the same way as the CPU load graph. You can view individual measurements, zoom in and out for different time periods and move the viewed period by dragging the cursor left or right.
If you're not sure what the RAM usage measurements mean, please read the article Box status: CPU load and RAM usage for detailed explanations.
WordPress cronjobs
All your Box's cronjobs can be viewed on the Box status screen. This allows you to easily check whether any problems on your site are related to the cronjobs.
Our Help Center article on cronjobs explains what WordPress cronjobs are, how they work and how to find out if they are causing problems on your site.
Box changelog
The changelog is a feature you will only find on your Box status screen. It shows you at what time which user performed which action on your Box.
These logs only show changes made at the server level or in the Raidboxes Dashboard. The logs do not display changes made in WordPress.
If you see changes from the user Raidboxes in your Box changelog, these changes were made by a Raidboxes Super Admin. Entries with the user SYSTEM are automatic system changes.
Log files
You can view your site's access, error and WP debug log directly from the Box status screen.
Important: If you want to use the WP debug log, you first need to switch it on using the toggle.
You can find more information about a site's logs in our article on server logs.
