Create a TXT record

TXT records are DNS records you need to integrate external services like Google G Suite, Google Search Console or email servers.

Many external services, e.g. mail servers or certain Google products, use TXT records to authenticate your domain. This is a way for service providers to verify whether you really are the owner of a domain.

TXT records thus play an important role in managing your online services. If your domain is hosted with us, you can add a TXT record with just a few clicks and change existing TXT records at any time.

Please note: If your domain is not hosted with Raidboxes, you will need to make the changes at your external domain provider. Your provider will explain how to do this.

Domain administration at Raidboxes

Like any other DNS record, TXT records are managed in the DNS administration area of your Raidboxes Dashboard. Click on the Domains tab in your dashboard and select DNS options next to the relevant domain to access the records.

In the DNS entry section, you will see a list of all the DNS records for your domain. To create a new TXT record, click on Add DNS entry.

A popup window will open where you can define exactly what type of record you would like to create and its contents.

Fill in the following fields to create a TXT record:

  • Subdomain: Can be left blank if you don’t need to set a subdomain.

  • 3600: This value specifies the so-called TTL. You can leave this value set to 3600.

  • Type: TXT must be selected here.

  • Target: Here you enter the content of the TXT record. It’s best to copy the content directly from the source information you received for the TXT record. If you wanted, for example, to connect the Google G Suite, you would find the information you need in your Google G Suite account.

Click on Create to confirm your entry; the TXT record will be added instantly.
