SMTP plugins allow you to send emails from your WordPress site, e.g. order confirmations or emails from contact forms.
💡 What's so special about SMTP plugins? These plugins send emails directly via your mail server and not the PHP mailer of your Box.
⚠️ The number of emails you can send via the PHP mailer at Raidboxes within a 24-hour period is limited to 250. For this reason, we always recommend using an SMTP plugin.
If emails are sent via your own mailbox, they will have the correct signature, benefit from the credibility and trustworthiness of your mailbox and any replies will end up directly in your email system.

How to use an SMTP plugin
The first step is, of course, to choose an SMTP plugin from the directory. For this guide, I will use WP Mail SMTP.
When the plugin is installed, you will find the menu item WP Mail SMTP in the sidebar of your WordPress dashboard.
In the plugin menu, you can now select your email hosting provider in the Mailer section under General. If you don't any of the providers suggested, select the option Other SMTP.
After selecting this option, you'll need to fill in a form to connect your SMTP server. Now enter the corresponding SMTP information.
If you have a mailbox at Raidboxes, you'll find the details you need to enter directly in your mailbox management and in the overview of the specific mailbox in the section Server configuration.
📩 Save your entry and, as a final step, send yourself a test email via the plugin to check whether the information entered is correct.
