💡 You can add further email addresses to your mailbox using an email alias. Let's say you run a shop, you could add email addresses such as orders@example.com or support@example.com. Every email that's sent to either of these email aliases will end up in your inbox.
How to create an email alias
If you want to create a new email alias or edit existing aliases, you can do this directly in the email inbox overview. Go to the Emails tab from your Dashboard and select the relevant mailbox.
In the Aliases section, click on the option Create new email alias, type the name of the new email alias and confirm your entry.
⚠️ Please note that only the following special characters can be entered: $%.-_
As soon as the alias appears in the list of email aliases, it means it is set up correctly and active. From now on, every email that is sent to the alias email address will be automatically forwarded to the main address of your mailbox.
Deleting an alias is simple: just click on the trash can icon next to the alias.
⚠️ Aliases: not the same as redirects!
Aliases become particularly important in conjunction with redirects. But remember, aliases are NOT redirects!
Email aliases are email addresses. All emails that are sent to these pseudo-addresses land directly in your mailbox, i.e. the mailbox of the main email address.
Redirects, on the other hand, ensure that the emails from your mailbox are also forwarded to another mailbox. In order to be able to use forwarding properly, you need a second mailbox.
