Raidboxes domains can, of course, be connected to websites outside Raidboxes. You're able to connect our domains to any web space you want to. You can, for example, link your Raidboxes domain with a shop at another provider. The basic procedure is as follows:
You create a new DNS A record for your domain
and enter the IP address of the external web space.
You can also do this for as many subdomains of your Raidboxes domain as you like.
Connect a domain with an external web server
Click on the tab Domains in the Raidboxes Dashboard. Now select the DNS options button next to the domain in question. This will take you to the DNS administration of the domain where you can add a new DNS entry by clicking on + Add DNS entry.
A new window will open up. Fill in the following fields to set a new A record:
Subdomain: Leave this field empty.
TTL: You can ignore this setting. You are, however, welcome to define your own TTL here if you prefer. The value should not be less than 3600.
Type: Here you select A.
Target: Enter the IP address of the external web server. If you don't know it, please ask the provider of the external web space.
Click on Create to confirm your entries and create the new record. Please note that it can then take up to 48 hours for this entry to take effect.
Connecting a subdomain to an external web server
This case becomes relevant if only a subdomain, not the entire domain, should point to an external web space. This could be, for example, if your main site and blog are hosted with us, but you've outsourced your shop to a third-party provider. In this example, you would then create an A record for the shop subdomain.
