The following two steps are required to transfer a domain to our servers:
Step 1: Generate the domain Auth-Info Code
To transfer a domain from one registrar to another, you need the domain's AuthInfo-Code. This is sometimes referred to as an Auth-Code, Authorization Code, or transfer code. The code is provided by your current domain registrar.
You can either generate the code directly through the domain administration of your registrar or your registrar can send it to you. In some cases, you may need to first cancel the domain to obtain the Auth-Info Code.
Step 2: Enter the Auth-Info code
To initiate the transfer, you now need to enter this code in your Raidboxes account. Go to your Raidboxes Dashboard and click on the Domains tab. Enter your domain and the AuthInfo code in the Transfer domain section and click on Transfer domain to confirm your entry.
The rest of the domain transfer happens automatically. For country-specific domains,
the transfer usually takes no longer than 48 hours.
Special case: Generic domains (e.g. .com domains)
It may take up to five working days to complete the transfer of a generic domain. This is because your previous domain registrar must first release the domain for transfer. If the domain is not released manually by the domain registrar, it will usually be released automatically after five working days.
You will also need to confirm the transfer via email when transferring a generic domain. An email from the Mailrobot service will be sent during the transfer process. The domain can only be transferred once you have confirmed this email.
Transfer lock for generic domains
A generic domain can only be transferred 60 days after registration at the earliest. It is not possible to transfer a domain before this period has elapsed. There is no way to change this lock as it a stipulation of the registrar.
