After your mailbox has been migrated to our new mail product, your emails are already in their new place. Since contact and calendar data are handled differently than emails, they must be manually imported or reconnected once after a migration.
In this guide, we will show you how to integrate your data into the Webmailer.
Access our Webmailer directly here
Please use your full email address as the username and the password you set during the mail migration or in the Raidboxes Dashboard.
1. Prerequisites: Export from your old system
Before you start, you must export your data from your previous program (e.g., Outlook, Google, or Thunderbird). The Webmailer supports these standard formats:
Contacts: Export as a vCard file (.vcf).
Calendars: Export as an iCalendar file (.ics).
2. Importing contacts
Since your address book is usually empty after migration, you can simply upload your contacts in bulk:
Click the Contacts icon in the navigation bar on the left.
Click the Import button in the top toolbar.
In the following window, select your prepared .vcf file.
Note: The import limit is 25 MB per file.
Confirm the process by clicking Import.
Note: Currently, only manual import is possible for contacts. Automatic synchronization (CardDAV) is not yet available.
3. Adding calendar data
You have two options: a one-time file import or permanently connecting an external calendar.
Option A: File Import (.ics)
If you want to transfer existing appointments:
Switch to the Calendar view in the Webmailer.
In the list of set-up calendars, click on the "Edit Icon".
Click on Import/Export in the top menu bar.
Select your .ics file.
Finally, click Save.
Option B: Subscribing to an external CalDAV calendar
To permanently link an external calendar and synchronize it via CalDAV:
Switch to the Calendar view in the Webmailer.
Click the "Bar Icon" next to the calendar list.
Select Add CalDAV calendar.
Enter the CalDAV URL, Username, and Password, and click Find calendars.
Finally, click Save.
4. Syncing the calendar with other clients or smartphones
Please note that calendars are not automatically synchronized via the IMAP protocol with other email clients or your smartphone. IMAP is only responsible for emails.
To use your calendar data synchronously on other clients or devices, the calendars must be integrated via CalDAV.
This procedure is only required if you want to use a calendar from the Webmailer as the basis for synchronization on other devices.
If you have integrated a calendar from an existing CalDAV interface as described in Option B above, you do not need to create a new interface.
Instead, use that same CalDAV data on your other clients or devices.
How to find the connection data for a Webmailer calendar:
Switch to the Calendar view in the Webmailer.
In the list of set-up calendars, click on the "Edit Icon".
Click on Sync calendar in the top menu bar.
Enter a display name and a password.
Finally, click Add connection.
The connection details will now be displayed further down the page: URL, Alternative URL, Username, and Password. You can use this data to set up this calendar on another device.
FAQ & Troubleshooting
Are appointments showing the wrong time?
Please check the timezone settings in the Webmailer under:
Settings > Preferences > User Interface > Timezone.
If the "Auto" setting provides undesired results, we recommend the setting Europe/Berlin (or your local timezone).
