The Fully Managed option for plugins and themes is available from the Fully Managed plan onwards. With this option, we automatically take care of all plugin and theme updates for you. You can use the plugin & theme management in the Raidboxes dashboard to set exactly which of your extensions should be updated by us and which should not. You can also specify here whether you would like to be notified of updates by email.
⚠️Important: The Fully Managed settings are not transferred during a manual migration to the new infrastructure. If you have made special settings, you can transfer them manually from the old box to the new one after cloning.
Plugin and theme management
To reach the plugin and theme management area of your Box, select the menu item Plugins & Themes.
This is where all your Box's extensions are listed. You'll also see further information including pending updates, the extension version number and the date of the last update.
If your Box is on the Fully Managed plan or above, you'll also find a button to switch all automatic updates on or off.
Exclude individual plugins or themes from the auto-updates
Even if your Box is on the Fully Managed plan, it doesn't always make sense to have every plugin and theme updated automatically. It can be a good idea, for example, to exclude a particular plugin or theme if you've had issues updating it in the past.
If you want to exclude a plugin or theme from the auto-updates, simply click on the downward pointing arrow symbol in the Action column of the respective extension. This will open a drop-down menu. Select the checkbox Deactivate auto-updates to turn off the automatic updates for this specific tool.
Update email notifications
If you like, we can send you email notifications to let you know whether the updates were successful or not.
To activate email notifications, click on Action and then select Activate update messages.
Which plugins and themes will not be updated?
There are certain exceptions to what plugins and themes can be updated via the FULLY MANAGED system.
Raidboxes cannot update the following extensions:
Own developments
Plugins integrated into themes (the theme developer will usually provide plugin updates for these)
Plugins or themes without valid API keys
What happens if there is an error after the update?
If an error occurs during the automatic update process for a plugin, the update process is automatically cancelled and the previously automatically created backup is used. You will then receive an e-mail from us informing you that the process could not be carried out. You would have to check manually where the error comes from.
